How Does the Polyurethane Foam Work

Our Polyurethane Foam is a 2 part product that is heated to 110 degrees F and pumped at over 1,700 pounds per square inch. The Chemicals do not touch until they exit the injection gun. Once they are mixed, they are liquid for about 10 seconds. This is when the excitement begins!!! When the chemical reaction begins, the foam begins to expand and will become about 25 times its size in volume (unrestrained). As it is expanding, it is giving off extreme heat (up to 270 degrees F) and has heavy duty lifting strength. Within 15 – 20 seconds, the expansion is completed and the foam will achieve 90% strength (about 2300 pounds per square inch) in about 15 minutes.
